Apollo Scooters 2023 Updates

We can all agree that Apollo has been whipping up some tasty treats in the kitchen, as evidenced by their recent YouTube videos detailing improvements to their line of electric scooters.

We’ve all got a good sense of what to expect, but they’ve been letting us in on the changes they’re doing and the design problems they’re solving behind the scenes.

While it would be awesome to peek behind the scenes at how your favorite products are made, unfortunately, not many companies are willing to let you in on their secrets.

I’ve tested one of Apollo’s newest electric scooters, the City Pro, and can vouch for their design and manufacturing quality. Let’s read CEO Maciek’s brief update from earlier today.

As we reach the end of the year, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for being a part of our community. We’re a small, but mighty team with a mission to make mobility better for all. It takes forward-thinking individuals like yourself to bring us one step closer to that dream.

A few key accomplishments come to mind when reflecting on the last 12 months:

Establishment of Apollo factory in Shenzhen – after realizing that we could not reach our QC targets through contract manufacturing agreements, we made an investment in our own assembly line. With a dedicated space, team, and control over process we were able to reduce the defect rate by 50%+ year over year.

Launch of Apollo City 2022 – our second proprietary design was introduced to much anticipation from the community. After a rocky start, the City quickly became our best-selling product and received multiple industry awards.

Opening of two repair centres – in order to better support customers in our two largest markets, we opened dedicated repair centres in NYC and LA.

Announcement of Apollo Pro – soon entering the Beta production phase, the Apollo Pro was announced at the micromobility conference in Amsterdam. A category-defining product in multiple ways, we cannot wait to deliver the Pro in the second half of 2023.

150K+ miles travelled on Apollo vehicles – as the proportion of app-enabled scooters in our portfolio increases, we are starting to see the scale of your impact. In 2022 alone, we avoided 150K miles travelled on gas-powered vehicles.

Support for Ukraine – we raised over $10,000 with your support, which was doubled by the Canadian government for a total of $20,000 CAD. This money went directly to the Ukrainian Red Cross to support the citizens of Ukraine.

While I’m incredibly proud of what our team has been able to accomplish, it’s important to acknowledge 2022 has also been a year of massive learning for us. We end the year humbled, determined, and with a laser-sharp focus on sustainable growth in 2023.

Some of the upcoming initiatives we’re most excited about include further new product announcements, a packaging overhaul with a focus on sustainable materials, roll out of the new Apollo app, introduction of carbon offsets to achieve supply chain CO2 neutrality, enhanced customer support, and the expansion of Apollo+ services.

Once again, I’d like thank you for taking a chance on Apollo. As we continue to grow, we never forget that the path to better mobility for all is built one scooter and one customer at a time.

Apollo Reveal Seated Concept for 2023 Pro Model

Apollo has revealed the seat design for its latest high-performance electric scooter. The market has created a new demand for seated riding because they are more comfortable for long-distance rides and are easier on the feet. Many scooters have attempted to include a seat as an add-on, but some resemble elderly mobility devices.

The chassis and add-on kit on the Apollo model appears to work, and there is even an additional basket; it does not appear to be an undercooked design. What are your thoughts? Would you make any changes to the design?
